Bansko is a ski resort bolted onto a stone-built old town, and both halves are cheap. These 13 cover the gondola season, the hire shops, snowshoe days in the Pirin and the mehanas at the bottom, priced by the day.
Collect skis, poles, boots, or a snowboard from Ski & Board Traventuria in Bansko. Choose from nearly 1,000 sets and brands such as Head, Rossignol, Salomon, Fischer, Burton, and Volkl. Equipment is fitted at the shop, used on the mountain for the day, then returned or taken to your accommodation.
From Bansko, an English-speaking guide such as Dobrin, Filip, Wolfgang, or Dobrev takes you into Pirin National Park for up to five hours of snowshoeing. Equipment and poles are supplied, routes can suit the group, and the day ends with naturally heated mineral pools in Dobrinishte. Some routes may use a gondola or chairlift, at extra cost.

Bring your own skis or snowboard to Ski & Board Traventuria in Bansko for base repairs, hot waxing, polishing, and edge sharpening. The service takes about 1 to 10 hours, and you can leave equipment after 6 pm for collection the next morning. It is a useful choice when rented gear needs tuning or your own equipment has taken a beating.

Meet your private instructor at Banderishka meadow for a focused two-hour lesson in Bansko’s Pirin National Park. Travel from central Bansko to Villa Victoria Thermal Pool in Banya, about 15 minutes away, for roughly two hours of mineral-water soaking. You get access to a 36 to 38 C main pool with hydromassage jets and a 40 C jacuzzi, plus changing rooms and a restaurant. Bring flip-flops, as they are required.

Leave Bansko at 8 AM for a private snowshoe hike to Bezbog Peak. After a 40-minute transfer and chairlift ride to 2,240-meter Bezbog Hut, your English-speaking UIMLA guide, such as Gery or Vania, teaches you the basics before the 1.5 to 2-hour climb. Snowshoes, poles, lift tickets, and hotel pickup are included.

Pick up skis or a snowboard, boots, helmet, and goggles at Twins Ski School beside Bansko gondola. You can ski directly toward the lift from the shop, buy your lift pass there, and return your gear to the same meeting point. Rental time ranges from one to eight hours.

You’ll meet at Traventuria’s shop on Pirin Street in Bansko, ride 15 minutes to the trailhead, and receive a short lesson, helmet, and goggles. Then follow your instructor for a one-hour ATV safari near the Pirin mountains, with a scenic viewpoint stop and return transfer. A valid driving license is required to drive.
